External Communications Experience

Social Media

I acted as the "DJ" for all of GE Power's organic and paid social media channels including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube. This entails managing the content calendar, editing and approving posts, monitoring and responding to engagements, and analyzing metrics. I also create all of the content for the Gas Power Systems segment of the business. While managing the GE Power LinkedIn channel, I grew the followers to over 1 million.

HArriet the Gas Turbine

HArriet holds a special place in my heart. While she is now retired, this twitter channel was created to launch our latest and greatest product: the HA gas turbine. When I adopted the channel, I decided this big, powerful turbine needed a powerful personality.

Working with a talented graphic designer who could personify a gas turbine, HArriet went on lots of adventures as the product's popularity grew, and we used her to take advantage of fun hashtag holidays.

Press Announcements & Public Relations

At GE Gas Power, I managed public relations for more than a year in addition to my other Digital & Customer Communications responsibilities. At SI Group, I led corporate announcements and media relations. Both of these roles required me to write and distribute press releases while ensuring brand standards and alignment to business messaging. I fielded media inquiries and managed any necessary crisis communications.

Website Development & Management

I have led multiple projects to update company websites to improve the user experience, increase customer conversions, and reflect the company's brand and messaging. This includes creating unique content, buildingSEO, managing updates using a CMS, analyzing data, and performing A/B testing to determine improvements.

Thought Leadership & Positioning

I have supported leaders at every level of the organization to position them as experts in the industry on social media.  From quick posts connecting them to customers to full-length thought leadership articles, I work one-on-one to help them develop their unique voices.

Infographics & Sharables

Tweets with images receive 150% more retweets than tweets without images, Facebook posts with images see 2.3 times more engagement than those without images, and eye-tracking studies show internet readers pay close attention to information-carrying images. Needless to say, eye-catching graphics are critical to social media engagement. I create simple shareable graphics as well as work with graphic designers to develop full infographics to easily convey technical or lengthy information.

Videos & Virtual Reality

A key responsibility I've had is creating content for internal and external channels, including developing a wide variety of videos and interactive experiences. From documentary-style to product renderings and 360-degree videos, this entails developing the creative concept and look & feel, writing the script, working with a creative agency, and developing a distribution plan.

I also led a special effort for GE Power to optimize and form a strategy for our YouTube channel to boost subscribers (+30.3%) and views (+71.2%).

Events

At GE, I partnered with our events team to execute the company's presence at large trade shows and other GE-hosted customer events. My responsibilities included developing visuals, messaging, videos, digital collateral displays, and interactive experiences in addition to managing social media promotions.

At SI Group, I plan several internal events including quarterly all-employee broadcasts and a semi-annual global leadership meeting for the top leaders in the company including being done virtually utilizing Zoom.
